History
The history of glass and something about the glass doors
2008-07-30
First we have a look at glass. Glass has a long history. It was manufactured in open pits, ca. 3000 B.C. until the invention of the blowpipe in ca. 250 B.C. The mobile wood-fired melting pot furnace was used until around the 17th century by traveling glass manufacturers. Around 1688, a process for casting glass was developed, which led to glass becoming a much more commonly used material.
Then glass was used in building. The invention of the glass pressing machine in 1827 allowed the mass production of inexpensive glass products. Hand-blown sheet glass was replaced in the 20th century by rolled plate glass. The float glass process was invented in the 1950s. Glass in building can be of a safety type, including wired, heat strengthened (tempered) and laminated glass. Glass fiber insulation is common in roofs and walls. Foamed glass, made from waste glass, can be used as lightweight, closed-cell insulation. As insulation, glass (e.g., fiberglass) is also used. In the form of long, fluffy-looking sheets, it is commonly found in homes. Fiberglass insulation is used particularly in attics, and is given an R-rating, denoting the insulating ability. Then the glass doors existed as the glass developed. Nowadays it includes many different kinds—steel glass door, wooden glass door, stained glass door and tempered glass door. As today glass could make of many materials, we can classify them in other ways. Such as sliding glass door and frameless door, they do have their own merit. Let me have a look at them. Frameless glass doors provide a light, elegant and contemporary way of separating rooms. They can be fixed to their hinges either by full length rails along the top and bottom of the glass panel, or by small 'patch' fittings. Sliding door is easy to install, beautiful & functional. It suits different usage at home, for example, bathroom, washroom, kitchen & balcony. Villa, household & office are suitable too. Special inlay-design makes outdoors & indoors completely separated, as well as prevent water leaking.

LED-glass door In one of the most impressive furniture hacks we've seen lately, Norway-dwelling Melodeon made an etched-glass door, from scratch, with engraved glass lit by Led’s. And with no tripod to shoot the project on, he hacked one out of a chair and an adjustable mop handle.
Now we can see that today glass doors products have many kinds. They can be used in so many places because today glass industry develops very well. According to the reports, Glass fiber demand in the US is projected to grow nearly two percent annually to eight billion pounds in 2011, valued at $6.9 billion. Best increases are anticipated for glass wool insulation based on renewed growth in nonresidential building construction and gains in appliance and transportation markets. Glass wool insulation to remain dominant, offer best growth opportunities. Demand for glass wool (fiberglass) will expand at an above-average pace to 5.1 billion pounds in 2011. Nonresidential building insulation will exhibit the fastest growth due to rebounding construction expenditures, particularly for office and industrial applications. Further increases will be threatened by competition from foamed plastic insulation. Residential construction uses for fiberglass insulation will be constrained by declining single family housing starts. So that the glass door market in world is become large as the glass industry expands. I know that many manufactures try to invent new product about glass door. It is said glass could transform many different colors. That is so supernatural. I think that of course glass door has so many kinds. We like them not because it could provide secure but can see sunshine. We can image people need more natural light. Everone do not want to live in a non-shine room. Certainly if a product wants keeping virus, it needs instant innovation. So the pattern of glass door must be new to draw custom eyes. The risk in merchandise is essential, I think.
